The Baroque Horse of the Midwest (BHOTM) is a not-for-profit 501c3 group dedicated to producing a horse show that promotes Baroque breeds of horses. We currently host one licensed US Equestrian "A" Rated horse show each year. Our show is held at the Walworth County Fairgrounds in Elkhorn, WI.
Our Prize List page (found under the Show Info tab) will contain information needed to register for our classes. A download-able Prize List document be posted when available.
We offer classes for Andalusians, Half Andalusians, Friesians and Part-Bred Friesians, as well as Opportunity classes that are open to all breeds.
NEW in 2023 - USEF Open Division classes will also be included in our offerings!
Our show is licensed by US Equestrian with affiliations to the International Andalusian and Lusitano Horse Association (IALHA) and the International Friesian Show Horse Association (IFSHA).
The BHOTM was established with several goals in mind. We're dedicated to education with respect to promoting, showing and exhibiting the Baroque style horse of all bloodlines. We seek to preserve classical equitation and to educate those interested in the type of horses from the 16th and 17th centuries that were bred and trained from the Baroque era to the present day.
The Baroque Horse of the Midwest takes pride in producing quality horse shows that are sanctioned through US Equestrian with licensed judges and stewards so that all exhibitors follow a set of established rules and are judged in a consistent manner.
The foundation of our association is built on the camaraderie of our members and exhibitors. We welcome youth, adult amateurs and professionals. Our shows are a great place for first-time amateurs, youth and professionals alike. We make showing fun! Our goal is to treat you like family and make your showing experience rewarding!
Visit our Requirements/Conduct page (Under the Show Info tab) for additional information about membership requirements and affiliations necessary to compete in our Andalusian and Friesian classes. For those who wish to compete in our Opportunity classes, they are open to all breeds of horses. US Equestrian, IALHA and IFSHA memberships are not required for our Opportunity classes.
