The Baroque Horse of the Midwest (BHOTM) hosts a yearly Regional Championship show at the Walworth County Fairgrounds in Elkhorn, Wisconsin. We have classes for Andalusian, Half Andalusians, Friesians and Part-Bred Friesians as well as Opportunity classes that are open to all breeds. Our show is licensed by US Equestrian with affiliations to IALHA and IFSHA.

We welcome youth, adult amateurs and professionals. Our show is a great place to bring your young horses for their first outing or to put some miles on your seasoned competitor. If you're looking for a venue to show, you're always welcome at The Baroque Horse of the Midwest!

Cancellation Notice!

The Steve Kutie Ranch Riding Clinic scheduled for August 3 - 4 has been canceled. We're sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.

We’re already busy planning for a pointed USEF Regional Show in 2025. The show will be held in the new outdoor covered arena at the Elkhorn County Fairgrounds. We’ll feature Regional classes for Friesians, Part-Bred Friesians, Andalusians and Half-Andalusians. We will also offer USEF Division classes and Opportunity classes which are open to all breeds. Our 2025 show will offer something for everyone, including youth classes, a newly-designed trail course and a Saddle Fitting Clinic by Julie Cyra, owner of West 20 Saddlery. Mark your calendars for the first weekend in August 2025 and stay tuned for more details! We’d love to see you there.

Tribute To Dottie Elfers

Dottie Elfers (pictured with her Andalusian gelding, Viento) was a long-time supporter of The Baroque Horse of the Midwest. Known for her warm heart, upbeat personality and wonderful humor, she was loved by all who knew her. Dottie had a kind word for everyone and her presence was always the highlight of our show.

Dottie was a gifted and talented horsewoman. Whether driving or under saddle, she always had an impeccable turn-out and a smile on her face. Her sportsmanship was equal to none and she always promoted good-will and camaraderie. She was truly an inspiration to all!

Dottie was taken from us way too soon, having lost her hard-fought battle to breast cancer several years ago. But, she will remain in our hearts and thoughts forever.

The Dottie Elfers Memorial Perpetual Trophy will be awarded to the winner of the Regional Champion Open Andalusian/Lusitano Native Tack and Attire class. This award was kindly donated by Gareth A. Selwood.

If you have any questions about our show, please contact Sandy Jacob, Event Organizer, at 608-201-5922 or email her at Hndsnhves2@aol.com.
