Welcome!
The Baroque Horse of the Midwest, Inc. is a show horse association with several goals for its membership. We're dedicated to the education in respect to promoting, showing and exhibiting the Baroque style horse of all bloodlines. We seek to preserve classical equitation and to educate those interested in the type of horses from the 16th and 17th centuries that were bred and trained from the Baroque era to the present day.
Here in the Midwest, the most commonly known baroque-style horses are Andalusians, Half Andalusians, Friesians, and Part-Bred Friesians. The Baroque Horse of the Midwest takes pride in producing a quality show that is US Equestrian sanctioned with licensed judges and stewards so that all exhibitors follow a set of established rules and are judged in a consistent manner.
In addition, we offer Opportunity classes that are open to horses of all breeds.
The foundation of our association is built on the camaraderie of our members and exhibitors. We welcome youth, adult amateurs and professionals. Our shows are a great place to bring your youngsters for their first outing, or to put some miles on your seasoned competitor.
We're already planning a USEF Regional Show for 2025. We'll feature tried-and-true favorites along with new classes open to all breeds and disciplines. There will be something for everyone!
